Negron World is a record label that deals primarily with international (world) music. The label was founded in 2012 by Anthony Jackson AKA Toño Negron. At the time he was spending a great deal of time in Colombia and it would almost appear as if the main department for the company is out of Bogotá Colombia but it’s origin is Seattle Washington and that is currently where the headquarters reside. There are in fact three other departments aside from the main one in Seattle Washington USA; there is actually one department in Colombia in the Chocó region, there is another in Santiago, Dominican Republic and one in Nigeria which currently handles all Negron World’s West African Affairs.  

Although Negron World was born in 2012, Toño Negron had been heavily involved in music since his early childhood days. He mainly dabbled in the R&B, Blues, Rock and HipHop genres until he moved into Latin music and from there he went about a decade producing, composing and performing primarily various genres of Latin music. He spend a plenty of time in Central and South American collaborating with other artists and forming long lasting relationships that helped expose the Negron World brand to other parts of the world.

Around 2014, Toño Negron was exposed to the modern style of West and South African “Afrobeats” and was hooked. In 2017 he took made his first trip to Nigeria to launch the Negron World department in West Africa. The adventure has proven to be a success. The Negron World group has also begun to incorporate Latin Music with Afrobeats and the fusion has been accepted by many.

Toño Negron is a free spirited man and makes it his duty to ensure that the Negron World label continues to search for new talent, distinctive and creative sounds, and international collaboration opportunities. Negron World has carried a unique motto/phrase since its birth; and it reads: “tocando la música con algo distinto” which means “touching the music with something different”; the label still holds true to this claim.
